# How should I care for my bridle or double bridle?

To ensure the longevity of your tack, proper care is essential. Leather lasts longer when it is well-maintained and stored in a dry place. 

Initially, we recommend **oiling your bridles before their first use** to soften and waterproof the leather. 

Afterward, we advise **regularly cleaning** your leather with **glycerin soap** and conditioning it with a **nourishing balm** (about once every two weeks, depending on use). 

**Annual oiling** is also recommended and may be repeated if the leather needs additional suppleness.
